If you’ve never endured the wrath of the IT department – you haven’t lived. Typically, the IT boys spend much of their day doing whatever it is IT boys do. But on Friday – I accidentally unleashed all holy hell upon their department.

Last Friday, the Site Managers (with the help of Angie Keiser) hosted the “Festival of Sites” to show off PlattForm’s web properties. The goal was to provide cross-training for other teams on what the Site Managers do, but in a casual, fun environment that to those who didn’t attend, could have been mistaken for a Friday afternoon party. For those that didn’t attend, the following are the top ten things they missed!

Before November politics in the office was taboo- if you were a die-hard liberal or conservative you tended to keep it to yourself, for fear of screwing up the atmosphere with your co-workers. Folks would have bumper stickers and yard signs supporting their favorite candidate, but as soon as they hit their cubicle or desk it all went on the back burner.
There was so much animosity during the presidential campaign it seemed like supporting one candidate or the other could get you into trouble!

Every year, the company I work for throws one heckuva holiday smackdown. They spare no expense from the food and drink to the company bonuses. It’s really obscene how much they spend to thank their employees for all their hard work. They do tend to skimp, however, on the emcee portion of the show. Somehow, yours truly, always gets tapped to host the festivities alongside the Director of Human Resources.

Prom Night, it is not just a horror movie anymore. These days it is also not just for teenagers with raging hormones. Adults enjoy their own versions of it as well. Whether you came in a full tuxedo (Donovan), a normal button up with slacks, or a zoot suit (I looked pretty), the Plattform Prom Night/Christmas Party was about looking good and having a great time.
