Leaving my mark(eting) as an intern
My name is Becca, and I am a junior at the University of Kansas studying Strategic Communications. I just finished my first week of my internship at Plattform Advertising, and I have already learned so much.
I was very nervous on my first day because I was overwhelmed by how many employees there are, and I had no idea who I was going to work with.
As the first day came and went, I quickly realized that it was unnecessary for me to be nervous. I mean, I got free supplies, my own cubicle, and I got to write an article for our magazine. How bad could that be, right?
As my week continued, I was offered to be in a documentary and get a free massage. After this, I realized how much I love PlattForm and the relaxed environment I got to work in. Everyone always smiles and says hello in the hallways, and one guy even knew my name! I thought it was a pretty big deal. Everyone is very welcoming, and it made my first week very pleasant to come to work every day.
So far I have:
- Written an article in our magazine
- Been a part of a documentary
- Ordered business cards
- Used Google Analytics for Career College Central’s website
- Binded marketing books
Although I still get lost in the hallways, I know it will start to get easier. I am excited for my second week to start so I can get to know the other interns better and start our summer project! I also look forward to sitting in on more meetings and learning more about this awesome company!
