Snow Day? S’no Way!

As I sit here typing this blog post, I am still in my pajamas and have yet to shower for the day. Sort of like I’ve reverted back to college. This is because a big chunk of the country was recently besieged by a blizzard. A literal blizzard. You may have heard it referred to as the Snowpocalypse, Snowmageddon, the Blizzard of Oz, or people exclaiming sn-OMG! But any way you slice it, we had our first-ever closing of the PlattForm offices, and a number of people remained home for a second day because the plows had yet to make travel to the office accessible.

We work in a fast-paced environment, and our sector is under siege from well-intended but erroneously laid out proposed government regulations. The thought of closing down for even a day is practically unpalatable right now. Just from a seasonality perspective alone, this should be one of the times of the year we need to be firing on all cylinders – and providing the service to do so.

Even though PlattForm closed down for the blizzard, that doesn’t mean, for instance, a campus in Arizona would stop needing inquiries. This is where some of PlattForm’s setup became key. The Client Services team at PlattForm is well-equipped to stay on top of situations whether we are in the office or not. Between our laptops, BlackBerries and general built-in levels of urgency, the team was still interfacing with clients and making sure we were doing our jobs throughout the day. I’m not saying I didn’t have some time to frolic in the snow (that lasted about 2 minutes until I realized that I like the warmth and hightailed it back in). But I am saying that PlattForm has a team of dedicated individuals who want to see our clients succeed and will do what it takes, sometimes when it’s not ideal. Our goal is always to make sure we’re providing a consistent level of excellence. That’s simply the standard around here.

So that brings me back to sitting in my pajamas, unshaved, with Days of Our Lives as my background noise (I’ll admit it…only so much I can watch about Egypt right now). I’m focused on making sure some reports are prepared correctly. I’m analyzing performance trends and looking for opportunity to improve some already strong areas in TV for one of my markets. And I’m working my tail off. Because that is just how we do it in the Client Services department at PlattForm.
