Step up to help Joplin

PlattForm, like a great many in our community, is doing what it can to help the people of Joplin. How can you step up? If you’re a PlattFormer, come to breakfast this Thursday, from 8:30 to 10:00 am. Tickets are $5 or five donated items (canned goods, toiletries, bottles of water, etc.) All proceeds will go to victims of Sunday’s tornado that devastated Joplin, Missouri. Kudos to Team Phil and Culture Club for putting this charity breakfast together so quickly. But we’re not stopping there. Thursday also kicks off our supply drive. All items will be donated to Joplin. The following items are especially in need: Children’s clothing Men’s clothing Women’s clothing New undergarments Tennis shoes Work gloves Blankets Wash cloths Soap Deodorant Sunscreen Diapers/wipes baby formula Toothbrush and toothpaste Toiletries Bottled water No-perishable food items Unopened toys Flashlights Batteries Camping cookware Donation bins will be placed on the 2nd and 3rd floor lobbies. Team Phil is tasked with collecting these donations and ensuring that they get to appropriate drop-off locations in Joplin and Kansas City. At PlattForm, every day we open doors by opening minds. In the process, we change lives. With Joplin, the need isn’t education. It’s picking up the pieces, getting back on one’s feet and striving for some sense of normalcy. For that mission, our life changing impact is the same.
